The Laboratory of Economics of Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability – LENS at the Department of Economics at the University of Patras Greece, was founded in 2024 (Government Gazette 2887/22.05.2024 Vol. B’). It is dedicated to unraveling the intricate interplay between economic dynamics and environmental sustainability through a holistic and multidisciplinary lens. Although our research focus on firm level research also refer to regional and country level.
At its core is a deep-seated commitment to exploring the strategic implications of every decision, guided by a comprehensive understanding of complex economic and environmental phenomena. Central to our mission is the pivotal role of the Economics of Innovation, which drives our exploration into how innovative practices and technologies can pave the way for sustainability, energy efficiency, and enhanced economic strategies.
By intersecting diverse fields, we foster a systems thinking approach that illuminates the interconnections of various elements, facilitating a more nuanced and effective analysis.
We delve into both policy and strategic decision-making processes, dissecting not only the theoretical underpinnings but also the practical implications of economic and environmental strategies.
Our primal aim is to cover at the undergraduate and graduate level teaching and research needs of the Department of Economics, in matters within the objects of the laboratory activity.
Our engagement spans a spectrum of knowledge-sharing platforms, including seminars, symposia, conferences, and lectures. Through these avenues, we foster meaningful dialogue and exchange of ideas, driving forward the discourse on key topics in our field. Additionally, we are committed to disseminating our findings through publications and reports, ensuring that our research reaches a wide audience and contributes to the advancement of our collective understanding.
What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to knowledge production, evident in our groundbreaking research initiatives and collaborative workshops at both university and national levels. Under this framework, we aim at any form of cooperation with research centers and academic institutions nationally and abroad, since the scientific objectives coincide, are consistent and complement those of the LENS.
